Our Ethos
Whilst ensuring the course adheres to, and meets, award body requirements (e.g. Level 6/7 CPCAB Diploma in Supervision) and will prepare practitioners for BACP Accreditation as a Supervisor of Individuals and Groups, we have decided to remain independent following the following considerations:
• The course is for Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Allied Health Care professionals. To go with one awarding body could exclude some candidates e.g. Residential Therapeutic Children’s’ Service Managers, Educational Inclusion Officers etc, and those supervising the clinical casework of front line workers.
• Each awarding body has, what we consider to sometimes be, restricting and diluting academic/experiential requirements.
• The additional costs of award body fees, of which there are many. Would be passed on to the students, effectively prohibiting access from lower budget front line therapeutic services/workers.
By offering equal ops and inclusion the course aims to offer a parallel experience of ‘Theory into Practice’ which professionally equips students to become effective, ethical practitioners able to competently supervise Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Allied Health Care professionals working therapeutically with vulnerable Adults, Young People and Children - within statutory, organisational, educational and private settings.
