Individual Counselling
Counselling, in its therapeutic context is a common term for looking at issues through dialogue.
The therapeutic relationship will tend to be based on talking, listening, empathy and providing a safe environment for emotional expression.
Counselling is more likely to be short-term.
Individual Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy may be a way in which issues are explored in greater depth, this can be short term but Psychotherapy is more likely to be long term.
Psychotherapy is underpinned by a strong therapeutic relationship. This facilitates therapeutic approaches and techniques to Psychotherapy.
Both Counsellors and Psychotherapists may use a variety of approaches to therapy and techniques which may come from Cognitive Behavioural, Transactional Analysis (T.A), Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Person-Centred, NLP, Existential and Psychoanalytical principals.
Group Therapy
Group Therapy has its advantages and can work out to be a more affordable means of therapy aimed at more specific issues.
The groups are 90 minutes in duration. The content is a mixture of educational and interaction.
The number of users in a group will be no larger than 6 per session.
