Debbie is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and as such adheres to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Debbie works in primarily in a person-centred way, working with the therapeutic relationship and the material that the client brings to the sessions. She works in comfortable rooms within a GP Practice, offering short and long term individual therapy for a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, chronic or life-limiting health problems, young people, relationship issues and general life challenges.
Debbie has particular experience of bereavement work, including infertility, pregnancy loss and loss of a child, as well as working with mothers who are having difficulty adjusting to life with their baby. Debbie also works with women who are experiencing the so called 'empty nest syndrome' and retired people who are having difficulty adjusting to a new way of living.
