My training was Person Centred the core philosophy of the approach reflects my own values, with its emphasises that the people have the capacity to decide for themselves how they want to change and grow. What matters to me is that I facilitate an environment, where the client feels safe to share in whatever way they are able, and to discover within themselves the resources they need to change. The centrality of counselling is the relationship between the client and therapist. It has often been stated that the relationship is the therapy.
I have been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in primary care via GP practices since 2003 and have significant experience in the field of mental health. Working with a wide range of issues including Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, confidence and self esteem, Depression, family problems and relationship difficulties.
I am currently studying for my MSc in psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute.

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and supervisor working in private practice for the past 15 years, providing counselling and supervision to individuals, couples, groups and organisations including GP surgeries.
My counselling orientation is integrative, including CBT and my specialist areas are bereavement, anxiety, depression, work issues, stress and couple counselling.
I provide short term counselling with Employee Assistance Programmes, using Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and also work long term with clients as necessary.
