I provide a safe, confidential space for clients to think about past and present experiences, thoughts and feelings and explore the impact these might have on decisions, relationships and their lives. My aim is to provide a healing relationship to enable clients to find their own resources for resolving personal problems. I help individuals to identify underlying causes to problems, seek more effective ways of coping, make changes and discover a more fulfilling way of living.
I have worked as a Youth Counsellor, working with 14 to 30 year olds, and latterly I have worked with people of all ages, using art therapeutically, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and brief solution-focused methods effective for short-term counselling.
I have experience working with: anxiety management, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, employment issues including work-related stress, substance misuse, abuse, obsessions, phobias, panic attacks, relationships, sexual identity, assertiveness, negative thoughts, and low self –esteem, short and long-term counselling.
