    Tim is an experienced and accomplished eclectic counsellor, supervisor and psychotherapist. He has been in practice for 10 years as an Individual and Group Therapist. His approach primarily comes from a Humanistic background, particularly in Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. He is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic perspectives.

    He has practiced at the Cygnet Hospital, Godden Green for 9 years and has a successful practice in Harley Street.

    Tim has experience in Supervision with Supervisee's of varying modalities, and different experience levels. He has Supervised Trainee Counsellors, established Therapists and Psychiatrists that use therapeutic interventions.

    I have experience in working with people across a broad spectrum of issues although my specialism is in sex and relationship therapy, including sexual assault.
    I work with individual over a wide age range, as well as couples and groups, including children, young people, adults and couples. My practice is evidence based, and seeks the best and most effective approach for the individual or couple.     I have experience working with clients presenting with issues such as bereavement/loss, self esteem, relationships, anger and anxiety. My client’s needs have been for short and long term therapy.
    I work with children, teenagers and adults.
    I also work in Infant & Primary schools.

    Counselling Experience:

    Fegans Child and Family Care – 1999 - 2009.
    I began my counselling career in Fegans at the Thanet Centre as Project leader for initiatives that were developing in the schools at the time, these included After school club ,One to One emotional Support for children(TalkTime), Self Esteem groups(TOPS), Anger management groups.

    As group facilitator for adults, I have run workshops and courses on Basic Listening Skills, Listening to Children, Bereavement, Self Esteem, Parenting (Incredible Years).

    There were many facets of my role over the ten years, ended my employment as Counselling Team Leader, which included the management of the counselling service, induction of new staff, development and delivery of Parenting groups and also management of my own counselling workload within schools and the Tunbridge Wells office.

    I believe that counselling helps to get a better understanding of yourself and your perception of the world around you.  In the sessions I offer you a confidential, non-judgemental space, where together we look at the issues that are troubling you.  We will explore what feels so difficult, what changes you wish to make and what choices you may have to make those changes happen.   

    I have been in practice for over 6 years, having worked for several organisations - MIND, GP Surgeries, Youth Enquiry Service, WHCM Bridge Counselling Service. At present I am Student Counsellor at the Counselling Service of UCA (University for the Creative Arts) at the Maidstone Campus. 

    I have worked successfully with individual adult clients and as a qualified teacher I am dedicated to help teenagers and young adults.  
    I am an Accredited Member of BACP and in my work I am guided by the BACP Ethical Code for Good Practice.  I have a valid Enhanced CRB Check Certificate to work with young people and vulnerable adults. I have full indemnity insurance.
    
    I offer general counselling support, working with issues around depression, stress, anger, traumatic experiences, birth trauma, post-natal depression, anxiety, all types of abuse, lack of self-confidence and self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss.

    My private practice is based in the centre of Staplehurst, (7 miles from Maidstone) and  in the centre of Maidstone, in the Maidstone Community Support Centre in Marsham Street, where I work independently for the Kent Counselling and Psychotherapy Service.
