Further Details
Whatever brings an individual into counselling, I believe the confidential therapeutic relationship offers unique opportunities for personal development.
I trained in transpersonal counselling (which belongs in the humanistic field) and now work integratively, drawing on elements from different models that inspire me - Person-centred, Gestalt and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
In my private practice I work predominantly with adults offering 1:1 counselling. In my work with charitable organisations and the NHS I counsel mostly children and young people in agency and school settings (primary & secondary). I have set up a school-based counselling service in a secondary school and have also worked in bereavement counselling.
I have experience of working with a broad number of issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, bereavement, loss, anger, eating disorders, difficult relationships, abuse and family break up. I am happy to work short or long-term to suit individual needs.
I hold a postgraduate diploma in transpersonal counselling, a certificate in counselling children and adolescents, am an accredited member of BACP and am on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists.
